Electronic Information Engineering
I . Training Objectives
This major aims to cultivate high-quality applied talents with all-round development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labor education, solid foundation of both mathematics, physics, electronics and information, equipped with good abilities of analyzing, designing and solving problems in complicated electronics and information systems, who behave good innovative and pioneering spirit, social responsibility, professional ethics, international view, and are capable of conducting research, design, development, manufacture, operation, maintenance, management in the field of Electronics and Information Engineering or related ones, adapting to the career development and social demands in the future.
Undergraduate students are expected to achieve the following objectives in about five years:
1) Be equipped with solid foundation of mathematics and natural science, good humanistic accomplishment, social responsibility and professional ethics;
2) Systematically master the basic theory and technology of Electronics and Information Engineering, be capable to find solutions to complicated engineering problems in designing electronics and information systems, have good abilities of engineering design the technical development, can undertake jobs of research, design, development, manufacture, operation, maintenance, management of electronics and information products;
3) Have good ability of expression, communication, independent work, team cooperation and organization management;
4) Behave good innovative and pioneering spirit, form the habit of self and lifelong learning, adapt the changing circumstances and environment;
5) Have international vision and good foreign language application ability.
II. Requirements for Graduation
The requirements for graduation and the corresponding index points are illustrated below:
1 . Engineering Knowledge : Be able to solve complicated engineering problems with knowledge of mathematics, natural science, engineering basis and electronic and information engineering major.
2 . Problem Analysis: Be able to apply the basic principles of mathematics, natural science and engineering science, with literature research to analyze and express complex engineering problems in electronics information systems in order to obtain effective conclusions.
3. Design / Development Solution : Be able to propose solutions for complex engineering problems in electronic information systems, design units (parts), systems or technological process which meet specific needs while embody innovation in the design process, considering social, health, safety, legal, cultural and environmental factors.
4. Research: Be able to research on complex engineering problems in electronics and information systems based on scientific principles and methods, including designing experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, obtaining reasonable and effective conclusions through information synthesis.
5. Application of Modern Tools: Be able to develop, select and use appropriate technologies, resources, modern engineering tools and information technology tools, including the prediction and simulation of complex engineering problems in automation systems and understand the limitations.
6. Engineering and Society: Have the ability to conduct rational analysis based on engineering-related background knowledge, recognize the impacts that solutions to engineering applications and complex engineering problems in electronics and information major may bring to the society, health, safety, law and culture, and understand the responsibility they undertake.
7. Environment and Sustainable Development: Have the ability to understand and evaluate the impact of engineering practices on complex engineering problems in the field of electronics and information on environment and social sustainable development.
8. Professional Ethics and Norms: Be equipped with humanistic & scientific accomplishment, and social responsibility. Understand and comply with engineering ethics and norms in the project practice, and fulfill the responsibilities.
9. Individual and Teamwork: Have the ability to take the role of an individual, a team member, and person in charge of a multidisciplinary team.
10. Communication: Be able to communicate effectively with industry peers and the public on complex engineering problems of electronics and information systems, including writing reports, design manuscripts, presenting statements, clearly expressing or responding to directives, and have a certain international perspective , be able to communicate in a cross-cultural context.
11. Project Management: Understand, master and apply the principles of engineering management and economic decision-making methods for the projects in multidisciplinary environment.
12. Lifelong Learning: Be equipped with independent learning and lifelong learning consciousness , have the ability to continue to learn and adapt to development. Gain and apply the concepts of socialist core values.
